Pick up your rental car and drive to your pre-booked accommodation. You will be issued with a folder containing all the information and contact details you require for your honeymoon. The folder will also contain special "local's" tips on places, sights and restaurants that you should not miss along the way. Spend your first night in Port Elizabeth in a 5 star Guest House.
Day 2 and 3
Travel inland to a private, malaria free game reserve. From the moment you arrive, the magic begins. Game (wild animals) are viewed in the morning and evening on game drives in an open backed land rover with trained ranger. In the early morning, just before the African sun rises, you will spend 3-4 hours game spotting before returning to your lodge for a great breakfast/brunch. The hot middle part of the day is usually spent at your leisure, snoozing swimming and generally relaxing in your own time. Lunch is also served.
At around 4 or 5 pm you will once again be taken on another game viewing expedition. Animals start to come down to the waterholes to drink when the heat of the day has passed and this makes for excellent viewing opportunities. When the sun eventually sets your ranger will use a spotlight to check the bush for nocturnal animals. The sight of a yellow pair of eyes staring back at you from the gloom produces a rush of adrenaline and excitement, which must be experienced!
After your night drive you will head back to your lodge for a gourmet dinner. The whole experience will be repeated the next day so that you can search for any elusive species that may have evaded your game spotting.
